Noah’s First – Madison Nature Trail Huntsville Alabama

My baby is getting big…  It is inevitable and exciting and sad all at the same time :-)  The kids and I went up to Madison Nature Trail on Green Mountain and had a blast!  It is such a beautiful spot and turned out being a great place to take a few pictures for Noah’s 1st birthday.

Cook Family – Madison Nature Trail Huntsville Alabama

I have a bucket list, a photographic bucket list that is.  This is one of those times I actually got to check something off of it!  A covered bridge + during fall + on a lake = pretty amazing stuff to work with!  These kiddos were so excited about exploring the area!  I hope I didn’t cramp their style too much with the photos ;-)  The more I do this the more I realize all of my favorites are the candid moments when everyone isn’t looking at me, but just enjoying the moment and each other.  It is the stuff memories are made of!!!

Anna Burk – Cotton Field Madison Alabama

Oh how I love working with kids!!!  There is something truly beautiful about how their eyes are totally honest and true.  This is not the first time I have worked with Anna and each time I just can’t get over her eyes.  They are the most cristal blue and to be honest I don’t know that photos do them justice.

I have been dying to do a photo session in a cotton field ever since last year!  Anna’s mini session was a perfect opportunity and it didn’t hurt that her mom said “I trust you” when I asked her if she had a location in mind, music to a photographers ears!!!  Around here we call it Alabama snow.  I love it!!!

3 Years Beautiful – Madison Alabama

I can’t even tell you how exciting it is to see her grow while at the very same time how much I ache because I know the days are going by way too fast.  I look back at photos of her when she was younger and I can’t help but feel a little sad that I will never get those sweet days back :-)  She is the most beautiful mess of a little girl I have ever met and I can’t even remember what life was like without her.  She is my little girl and that is something I am immensely proud of.  I love you Peanut, to the moon and back!

She wanted a “castle cake”!!!  She has been talking about it for MONTHS!!!

When we asked her what she wanted for her birthday the ONLY answer she would give was “new slippers” (her old set were MUCH too small but she had still been cramming in her little piggies)

Her Great Grandma was the one who bought her the last slippers and she was the one who bought them for her this year as well.  They were by far her favorite present ;-)

I am such a sucker for Matilda Jane dresses!  Don’t get me wrong, she loves them too (because they are good for “spinning”) so between the two of us I end up splurging a couple times a year ;-)

And of course she had to go outside and try it out! (I LOVE having a girl)

As I looked through all of these all I could think of was that she was dancing with the sunlight…  I know I am her mom, but I just think she is GORGEOUS!

The Polum Family – Fort Abercrombie Kodiak Alaska

Such a beautiful and FUN family!  I have known them a long time and I honestly don’t know of a family that laughs more than they do.  It is infectious and you always feel good when you part company :-)

The Nymeyer Reunion – Fort Abercrombie Kodiak Alaska

This is MY family :-)  We all came back home to Kodiak Alaska for a full week of togetherness!!!  Lol ;-)  With this many of us together all at one time it would be a shame to not take a picture right???

The Bahe Family

I love Kodiak.  It is where I consider myself “from” even though we didn’t move there until I was 18.  It is GORGEOUS and I am so glad I had the opportunity to do a little “work” while I was there :-)

The Hayes Family

Oh my!!!  It was such a beautiful day and the first day of fall :-)  The weather was to die for and the location was perfect.  We caught a bit of the golden hour at the end and the boys couldn’t have been cuter!!!  I hope you love them <3

Burk Family Photos – Madison Alabama

Oh my goodness!  I absolutely loved this session :-)  It helps to have fantastic clients with the most gorgeous daughter!!!  Her eyes are simply amazing and her personality shines through.  Melissa and Randall are over the moon for her and I absolutely love being able to make intangible moments last forever!  I hope you enjoy looking at these memories as much as I enjoyed capturing them!

Project 12: Water

Every Sunday after church we drive an hour so we can spend the afternoon with my husbands Grandparents and extended family. There is just something wonderful and grounding about spending time with family on a regular basis.

Out the back door of their house there is a little passage way (I have always thought it looked like an entrance to the secret garden :-) )

Once you emerge on the other side, there is a wide open field perfect for running.

Then there is this little pond that borders pasture with horses. It is simply beautiful :-)

Leave it to a boy to find something to play in the water with!

I can still see the little boy in him, but I can see the big boy too :-). Yesterday he didn’t want to hold my hand when we walked in to the store together (he wanted to on the way out though :-) ) He is changing and growing. I know these images will be even more precious to me the older he gets…
