Everything is so new and exciting. Starting to get steady on their feet with a love of exploring all of the new things that have never been seen before. Simple things like rocks and sticks are magical to little dimpled fingers and chubby cheeks. They love completely and their emotions aren’t clouded by expectation. Everything is still pure and honest. Happy 1st birthday!

This little one slept like an angel! I absolutely love what I do and lifestyle family photography is probably my favorite but then there’s newborns. <3 They take more time (normally around 3 hours) and their gallery’s take longer to edit because of all their little details but oh how I love them! There is nothing better than being reminded of how precious “fresh” tiny people are, and then to watch how their parents have completely fallen in love with them… It is a gorgeous thing and I hope I never take it for granted.
This little one is the first baby in this beautiful family. I can honestly say that she couldn’t be more loved. It was evident in every touch, every look and every word. <3

When this mama asked me if I could find a location with water so I could take photos of them playing and just being kids I got SO excited!!! This summer I am planning on incorporating more streams and creaks in to my photography sessions with the hope that parents will allow for this very thing. There is just something about water (and bubbles) that brings the joy out in kids. They just can’t help it! I intentionally focused on candid moments for this session and I simply love how these turned out (I hope you do too.) <3

So many times my own personal photos never make it to the blog. Rarely do I to a “whole session” with my kids. It is a little here, a little there whenever I see something I want to capture and they happen to be having a happy moment. lol

I love it when I get to see kids from year to year. I love seeing how they have physically changed as well as how they have matured. The dynamics in families with lots of kids is something that I really enjoy. I grew up as the oldest child of 6. We are now spread out and don’t see each other often but being around other families is a sweet reminder of my own childhood.
After we were done getting the must have images I saw this lamp in the front yard of the home we were shooting at. I have been playing with fine art photography edits for a while and I decided to see if I could reproduce what I was imagining… Mission accomplished!

They grow up so fast don’t they? This little peanut is already half way through her first year! This is just about my favorite time to photograph babies. They are so sweet, they interact, such sweet smiles, peek a boo, sitting up on their own, just about to crawl. Getting big but still hints of the infant remain.
I love indoor lifestyle photography sessions. There is something relaxing and comfortable for kids to be in their own environment and to be surrounded by family. <3

Every time I work with this family I drive away realizing my face hurts from smiling and laughing so much! Every bit of the joy you see in these images is genuine and honest. It is so special to witness it and to have them invite me to be a part of it for a while.
This extended family session was as fun as you can get! We didn’t even leave their home and we had such a fantastic and fun time! I think it is so cool that they wanted to document this time in their life in this way.

Is there anything more precious than a fresh new baby?
Their smell, the little noises, the way their cheeks squish and how they yawn and stretch with their whole body. I love it all!
I get so excited when parents choose one of my Grow With Me packages (for totally selfish reasons) because I get to see them change. I love looking over the different milestones and seeing the little (and big) differences. His Mama’s maternity session turned out beautifully as well.

I can’t even tell you how much fun this was. The evening was gorgeous and these two couldn’t be more in love. Can’t you see it? They look at each other with stars in their eyes. Gracie asked if I would just focus on capturing “them” and just being together. I remember back to the time that my husband and I were married but hadn’t had any kids yet. I have such sweet memories and it was such a special time as we got to really know each other. I can’t help but wish we had taken the time to have our own photos taken to document “us” during that time.
I can’t think of a better way to celebrate an anniversary than to make “right now” tangible with photos that celebrate the two people that are building something authentically beautiful.

A first birthday is such a special time. Celebrating the incredible things they have accomplished over their first year is truly something amazing to document! This little one was so much fun. She loves to run and always has one of her special stuffed animals by her side. Her mom thought it would be fun to capture a first for her. She hadn’t experienced bubbles before and even though she was a little nervous at first she ended up really enjoying them. I am so glad they invited me along to have these memories for always.
