I am absolutely obsessed with the images of this adorable family! This big brother is SO sweet and SO in love with his little sister and watching them together was just the most precious thing. She absolutely lights up when he interacts with her <3 To give credit where credit is due, I think he learned how to treat a girl from his daddy. ;-)
It never ceases to amaze me how much I enjoy watching families love on each other. It is a beautiful thing that helps me realize how blessed to have my own family.
Children learn so many things from their parents (Mine are particularly good at learning the things I don’t want them to copy! lol) but it was SO obvious to me that this little boy has watched how well his daddy treats his mommy. He was so careful helping his sister walk and stand. Seriously sweet in every way. <3

I met Tammy and Clint at a bazaar where I had set up JMP’s very first booth displaying some of my all time favorite photos from this past year! First babies are such a special thing. Life changes so completely. It’s the first time in life that I think we truly love someone else more than ourselves, and it happens in an instant.
This beautiful Mama to be is due in October and I couldn’t be more excited for them. Parenthood is by far the most hard and magnificently beautiful thing I have ever put my hand to and I can’t help but be over the moon for couples about to embark on the same adventure.
We had storm clouds threatening from the start. We were almost finished and the sky opened up and started dumping on us. He looked at me and said “We don’t mind getting wet if you don’t.” COOLEST COUPLE EVER!!! <3

Julie and Bart are the sweetest couple! I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in October. It is going to be at a gorgeous local venue and she is going to make the most gorgeous bride.
I was talking to Julie and she told me that he just about always is wearing hiking boots or flip flops and she is almost always in heals. lol
I love how they played up their uniqueness. After all, that is what makes them “them” isn’t it? ;-)
Julie let me know that one of the things she loves are my Fine Art photos. I have had this particular idea brewing in my brain for a while and was so excited to have a willing participant to pull it off. I love how the final image turned out.

Meet my brother Aaron and his wife Catie. They are having their very first baby and I can’t even tell you how excited for them I am. They are going to be such amazing parents and with their gorgeous genetics this baby is going to be absolutely adorable! Aaron is in the Air Force and they are stationed in California at the moment. This little peanut is due only 2 months before he is scheduled to be deployed for 6 months. In the mean time they are enjoying this time and still head over heals for one another!
I told them I wanted to get some photos of her bump while they were here visiting me. The last night before they were going to leave I looked outside and realized the sky was gorgeous and we were running out of time! Ten minutes later we were in the car headed to one of my favorite sunset spots. We were only out for about 30 minutes but I have so many images that I am in love with <3

If you hadn’t noticed, my absolute favorite people to have in front of my lens are families and if you have young kids, that is just icing on the cake!!! I absolutely love photographing the gorgeousness that is in this time of life. It is so precious and so fleeting. Kids are little for such a short time and I cherish the opportunity to document these moments.
This awesome family braved the Alabama Summer heat for these photos! We got an early start and headed up to Madison Nature Trail. It was a beautiful backdrop for this adorable family. Working with young kids can be challenging at times but this little guy was such a trooper!

This family! Goodness!!!
So Heather (the gorgeous mama you see in these photos) is a wonderfully talented Maternity, Birth and Newborn photographer in the Huntsville area. I first heard from her when she called me as I was walking through Gap with my husband on vacation. There I was, talking to someone “new” on the phone with a stupid grin on my face (my husband looking at me wondering who in the world I could be talking to. lol) because from what she was saying I KNEW she loved what I love and that this was going to be so much fun!
Fast forward a bit and we got chatting about the details of their session and we started to get to know each other. I absolutely love it when I find new friends through photography. It’s like the icing on an already delicious cake <3
We were both praying for a sunny day (leave it to 2 photographers to hope for a bright sunny day in the middle of the hot Alabama summer) for photos. lol. God must have been listening because it was not only gorgeous, it was super low humidity and about 10 degrees cooler than it had been!
We had a blast! I love every single one of these and I can’t wait to get the rest of their gallery finished so I can show them all to my new friend. <3
As the sun said goodbye, the girls played and danced in the field. It was such a beautiful evening <3

This wedding was just beautiful. The couple was obviously and completely head over heals for each other and the whole day went off without a hitch!
This gorgeous wedding venue is located in Huntsville Alabama. Annabella at Cedar Glen is a Southern plantation style home surrounded by beautiful gardens and a wide variety of spaces. It was such a treat to photograph this beautiful couples amazing day at such a gorgeous location.
The flowers were beautifully fresh with color pops in all the right places. 333 Designs did such an amazing job with the details. I couldn’t help but grab some close shots of these gorgeous rings.
Adam & Sarah decided to have their first look be as Sarah walked down the isle. It was such a luxury to shoot a wedding with Lauren Bee Photography. During the moments before the walk down the isle I spent time with the guys and she with the girls. (No peeking allowed!) Normally, when shooting a wedding by myself, it is such a huge challenge to get all of the details and even more importantly, the moments. Being allowed to really spend time getting those moments to remember forever, without the rushing back and forth was something I wish for every couple. So many more moments, so many more memories captured.
A beautiful day for a wedding!
Adam and Sarah’s family and friends gathered around them supporting their new life together was such a beautiful thing to watch.
I don’t think it is a secret that my favorite part of a wedding day is the bridal photos. There was a willow tree that I fell in love with as soon as I saw it. The wind made the willows sway and dance in such a magical way.
The reception was a gorgeous collage of sentimental details and southern charm. It was a perfect reflection of this sweet couple. <3 Veneranda Cake Art did a beautiful job on the lovely bride and grooms cakes!
The first dance as man and wife is always such a sweet moment.
As evening got a little older and the sun sank a bit lower I couldn’t help but see the light coming through the trees. It felt so magical <3
Sunset is just about my favorite time of day. It makes everything shiny and golden <3

I recently had the privilege of attending a Jacky Jean Mini Workshop in Atlanta, GA a few weeks ago. To say that she fit a lot in to a short time would be an understatement! Over the course of 5 hours we had the opportunity to cover so many different things.
For our first set (a senior) shooting in mid day sun and posing women. To be completely honest, I am not super comfortable in the more urban locations so this was such good practice for me. I loved seeing how others used different elements and angles.
We also had the sweetest set of sisters come to let us practice on. <3 These two girls had so much personality and Jacky had such a cute way of styling the session. Edgy and sweet all at the same time.
We took a break for dinner and then headed out to our second location. Where we found a vintage truck and an adorable mommy with her 2 littles to go with it. The freckles, shy smiles, light and cuddles are all things I absolutely love, so I felt a bit more comfortable in this environment. It was wonderful watching Jacky and learning from her method.
Our second family was decked out in gorgeous dresses from Leah Marie Couture. The entire evening was a gorgeous one <3
As the sun sank lower I just got more and more giddy. The light rims everything with gold. It never fails at this point in the evening that I just feel like there is magic in the air. Even the bugs that are such pests during the day are beautifully visible dancing in the air.
This workshop was such a fantastic experience. Jacky answered every question we threw at her and it was so much fun meeting and getting to know other photographers that are all talented in their own specialties and passion. These fellow photographers are truly a beautiful community that I am blessed to be a part of.

I absolutely love this age!
Everything is so new and exciting. Starting to get steady on their feet with a love of exploring all of the new things that have never been seen before. Simple things like rocks and sticks are magical to little dimpled fingers and chubby cheeks. They love completely and their emotions aren’t clouded by expectation. Everything is still pure and honest. Happy 1st birthday!
